Road Safety.

As mentioned in a XUNO message on November 1st...

I have had some concerns raised with me by a community member around the safety of picking up and dropping off students at the childcare/kinder, as well as our students walking on the footpaths and the roads in this area.

We have had many discussions with our students about not 'cutting through' the childcare/kinder carpark, and our students are required to walk around the footpath edge. We have also spoken about checking driveways before crossing and being vigilant around traffic. I am hoping that you could also have these conversations with your children. Their safety is my greatest concern, and I want all students, and their families, to get home safely at the end of the day.

I would also like to remind parents that when parking in this area to not park across driveways, leave enough space for oncoming traffic and park your car before letting students out.

In light of the situation currently being experienced by one Melbourne school, this is just a timely reminder that road safety in and around school is highly important. This safety should also be considered when using the football oval drop off, Park Road area and school carpark.
