Principal's Report

What a fantastic couple of weeks it’s been! Last week, some of our secondary students had an incredible time at Garfield Camp, enjoying a range of activities in perfect weather. From bushwalking to a cozy movie night, everyone made lasting memories in the great outdoors.
Back at school, we celebrated Halloween with amazing costumes, spooky decorations, and trick-or-treating around the school. Thank you to everyone who dressed up and made it a fun day! Be sure to check out the photos in this newsletter.
On the school facilities front, we’re thrilled to share that the final stage of our capital works is set to begin soon. The builders who completed our previous project have been appointed to finish this last stage, which includes the construction of four new classrooms, landscaping, and the front gate. Work is scheduled to start shortly, with an expected completion date by the beginning of Term 1, 2025.
A quick reminder: Monday is a pupil-free day as staff participate in a full-day professional learning session with Dan Petro, focusing on the functions of behaviour. Dan will also be joining us again on Wednesday for a parent workshop and a staff training session on school-wide positive behaviour support. Note, too, that Tuesday is a public holiday for Melbourne Cup, so there will be no school Tuesday either.
Finally, we’re excited to introduce a new newsletter feature, 5 Minutes With… Each edition, we’ll spotlight one of our staff members, so you can get to know us a little better. Look out for it in upcoming newsletters!
Thank you for your continued support and as always reach out with any questions.
