School Counsellor and School Psychologist Recognition Day - Friday 8th November
Today we are taking the time to thank the wonderful work our school counsellors and school psychologists engage in within our school communities. This year’s theme, ‘Little Moments, Lasting Change’, reflects the significant impact our school counselling service make in strengthening our students’ wellbeing and development.
Our school community is supported by some of the best school counsellors I have had the privilege to work with. Thank you to the amazing:
- Christine Tsekas (Thursday & Friday)
- Kristy Stack (Alternate Friday's)
- Tracey Perry (Tuesday)
Change of Student Return Dates for 2025
Last week teachers across NSW attended a broadcast to vote on the new teachers award for the next three years. The majority of the votes supported the award, and it was accepted.
As a result of this new teachers award, there has been an additional three School Development Days included into the 2025 calendar, providing teachers time to plan and prepare for the teaching and learning of the students in their class. The impact on families is to be aware of the updated date for the return of students in 2025.
All students, including new Kindergarten students, will commence on Thursday 6th February 2025.
This is a friendly reminder, if your child or children will be absent from school on Thursday 6th February 2025 due to a family holiday, please contact the office this year to have this leave recorded.
Student Supervision
It has been brought to my attention a number of students are arriving to school prior to active supervision commencing, posing a risk to their safety. Our school provides supervision for students from 9:00am every morning until dismissal at 3:25pm in the afternoon. If a family requires supervision prior to 9:00am, please contact the our OoSH provider, Attunga, for further information.
School gates are opened earlier on days where the school have supervised specialist groups including PSSA training, Dance Group rehearsals, and Band.
Our school office operating hours are 8:45am - 3:45pm, with the exception of days with a school excursion.
This is a friendly reminder to all families,
- High school students should not be accessing our school site prior to 3:25pm, and only if they are collecting siblings, and
- All parents, carers and siblings are required to wait outside the buildings.
I thank you for you anticipated cooperation in this matter.
