Years 4, 5, and 6: A Busy Start to Semester 2

The past few weeks have been action-packed for our Year 4, 5, and 6 students as they dive into Semester 2. In English, we've been focusing on a variety of literacy skills, including recount and information writing, reading, handwriting, and speaking and listening. We also had a Ned Kelly lesson, where students learned about the historical figure and the significance of his green sash. Be sure to ask your children all about it—they found it fascinating!

In Maths, students have been hard at work mastering place value and rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100, and 1,000. They have also been comparing, ordering, and representing numbers with increasing confidence.

Our Science lessons have just kicked off a new unit on energy. Students are exploring different types of energy we use daily and learning about which ones require careful handling.

We worked on Van Gough inspired art with a Parisian twist - celebrating the Olympic Games.

A special mention goes to our Creative Arts group, who recently participated in the KROP event in Griffith. Their performances were incredible, and they made both our school and community proud. Well done to everyone involved!
