Staff Reflection Day

On Monday 22nd July our staff gathered together for our staff reflection Day. We had the opportunity to collaborate with staff from St. Gabriel's School and members of Clearview Kilburn Parish to explore the updated 'Being Church Together' document and the new 'Drawn into the Joy of the Gospel' document. We were privileged to have these documents presented by Fr. James McEvoy and Madelaine Forde from the Archdiocese.

Our Staff Reflection Day offers valuable opportunities for our staff  to reflect, connect, and deepen their understanding and connections with our Catholic Identity, and their own faith and spiritual journey.

Draw Near Project

The 'Draw Near Project' is this year's social justice project and is a opportunity for our school, to work alongside St Gabriel's (our Parish sister school) and our Clearview Kilburn Parish, working with the Archdiocese,  as we live the Gospel message and the message of Pope Francis to be 'called to action'.

The Objective of the project is about enabling Catholic Parishes and Schools to support our local community through raising awareness,  faith formation and pastoral outreach.

The project has been framed using the recently launched documents  'Being Church Together' and 'Drawn into the Joy of the Gospel'.  Later this term, staff from both schools will come together and we will be involved in further faith formation and how the 'action will look.

You are invited to come along to the Parish faith formation meeting as the project is unveiled. I look forward to sharing more details in the upcoming weeks.

Clearview Kilburn Parish Anniversary Masses

The Clearview Kilburn Parish is celebrating significant anniversaries this year.

These are:  St Brigid's Church = 70 years / Good Shepherd Church = 60 years

The amalgamation of Clearview and Kilburn Parish = 20 years

To celebrate these significant milestones, two special masses are taking place on Sunday 11th of August.

St Brigid's Church will celebrate Mass at 9:00am and  Good Shepherd will celebrate Mass at 11am. During the St Brigid's Mass there will be the signing of the official documentation for the 'Draw Near Project', the unveiling of the new church signage. and Mass will be followed by a morning tea.

We would like to extend an invitation to all students and families to these celebrations.

MITIOG  CURRICULUM PROGRAMME

The Made in the Image of God Human Sexuality and Respectful Relationships Curriculum (MITIOG) is the official and mandated program for sexuality and respectful relationships education for South Australian Catholic Schools, for Years R-12. Each year our students engage with age-appropriate curriculum content regarding sexuality and respectful relationships through this (MITIOG) curriculum.

This year the Human Sexuality Curriculum will be taught during Term 3 in weeks 6, 7 and 8.  Letters will have been sent home this week.

Parent workshops (Made in the Image of God - MITIOG)

We respect that parents are the first educators of our students and we acknowledge this can be a sensitive area for families. Therefore, to support parents. to explain this project in more detail and answer any questions you may have, we have organised two opportunities for you to come and find out all about the MITIOG curriculum, what will be taught at each year level, and provide you with opportunities to ask any questions you may have.

These meetings will take place on:

Tuesday 13th August - 2:15-3:00pm

Tuesday 13th August - 6:15-7:00pm

However, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Yours in Love, Peace and Learning,

Michaela Edwards
