Headstart Information Evening - Understanding Apprenticeships and Traineeships
Head Start is hosting two information nights to be held at Chisholm TAFE, one at the Berwick campus, and one at the Dandenong campus - to help students understand what apprenticeships and traineeships are, and how they can undertake a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship (SBAT) while they are at school through the Head Start program, and begin working towards their qualifications while they complete their schooling.
This would be particularly beneficial to Year 9 students going into Year 10 next year and Year 10s going into Year 11 and are looking to go into VCE VM as part of their study pathway.
The Information Evenings will focus on:
- Understanding of the parties and their responsibilities
- Understanding your responsibilities as part of your contract
- What supports are available to you and
- What is the advantage of starting while at school
The events start at 6:30pm.
Tuesday 13th August 2024 - Chisholm Berwick Campus
Thursday 15th August 2024 - Chisholm Dandenong Campus
Contact: headstart.SM@education.vic.gov.au to reserve your spot.
Once you have registered, you will be provided with additional information
eg. location and map to assist you to find the right room.
SBAT Opportunity
We have an opportunity with Ray White Real Estate in Pakenham for a Cert III Business Administration Traineeship for a Year 11 student with Head Start.
This will consist of a minimum of one day weekday per week and a potential half day on Saturdays.
Any interested students please contact our HeadStart Industry Coordinator, Kristen Kerby, via email at kristen.kerby@education.vic.gov.au or mobile on 0499 945 807 to discuss the application through the Head Start program.
