Principal News
Dear Sacred Heart Community,
Prayer
As many of us watch the Olympic events in Paris with wonder and awe, we pray that like these gifted athletes, we recognise our own gifts and talents and use them to make ourselves and therefore our world a better place.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Congratulations to these students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation in a Spirit Filled ceremony last Friday night. During the Mass, Bishop Terry Curtin anointed our communicants reminding them that they now carry the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to guide them in their faith journeys.

Professional Development Day
Our Professional Development Day looking at our students social and emotional learning was facilitated by our Religious Education and Wellbeing Coordinator Kate. I would like to share my email to the staff:
Thank you so much to Kate for yesterday's pd. Having a presenter who is not only extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the material to be presented but is an integral member of the context to which they are presenting, makes for a very insightful, relevant and practical day. As part of our staff, Kate knows the student population intimately and is incredibly au fait with our own skills, knowledge, strengths and areas to work on. Thank you so much Kate. Antoinette, Marty and Geraldine, thank you so much for your valuable input and to the staff thank you for the way you embraced the day.
100 Days of Foundation
All our parents and guardians of our Year Foundation students will be aware that next Thursday we celebrate their first 100 magnificent days of school. It's a great achievement and will be celebrated on the day with many fun activities. As you can see from photos of the last two years celebrating the first 100 days, it has a dramatic effect on the aging process!

MACSISS
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS) are conducted annually for schools in the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne. This year’s MACSSIS window is from Monday 2 September to Friday 20 September 2024.
As part of compliance with regulatory authorities, Sacred Heart School is expected to engage with, and gather feedback from our community as part of our school improvement cycle through MACSISS. We are encouraged to view MACSSIS as a positive opportunity for gathering feedback and engaging our community in ongoing school improvement efforts.
All our students in Year Four to Year Six will be invited to access MACSSIS, with their teachers on hand to help during supervised sessions at school.
Families will be randomly selected and invited to participate as well, using a confidential code and PIN.
All staff will be expected to participate in the surveys again like students and families, with conditions of confidentiality in place.
Stella's Fundraiser
Our Year One student Stella is doing a fundraiser and is looking for our support.
(From Stella's mum Sharon) Stella will need to do 100 skips a day in August raising money to help 1 in 20 kids facing birth defects or genetic disease. Every dollar goes to the Children’s Medical Research Institute to help find treatments and cures that will save children’s life.
Stella is our everything. We are very lucky to have a healthy baby. I cannot imagine if any of these illnesses happened to my baby girl. We are thinking of parents who are going through this heartbreak. We are hoping with the little fund we raised, we can help the institute find more cures for kids in need. Our goal is $200 and we have been lucky to have raised over $500 so far.
We hope to get more support for this good cause. We would really appreciate if the school can share this fundraising with the parents. The link to Stella's Facebook fundraising is below.
Thankyou
