Audio Club

Marist College Ashgrove Audio Club provides an opportunity for students to engage in real-world music-producing projects and learning experiences, utilising the College’s state-of-the-art recording studio “The Hive”.  A recent project undertaken in this co-curricular activity has been the production of the original song “Still Waiting”; composed by Year 11 Band The Waiting List. Audio Club students (Years 7-12) have handled all stages of producing this song - including producing, sound engineering, mixing and mastering. The song can be heard on the band’s Triple J Unearthed page where they have recently entered the 2024 Triple J Unearthed High Competition. Any students in Years 7-12 interested in participating in the Audio Club should visit or email Music Reception (music@marash.qld.edu.au) for more information.

Last Thursday we welcomed one of Australia’s leading jazz pianists Barney McAll in a lunchtime concert for students and members of the MCA community. In 2015, Barney received an ARIA Music Award for ‘Best Jazz Album’ for Mooroolbark and his high musicality was clear to all who attended this special event.
