Exploring Narratives 

During Term 3, students are exploring the structure and techniques used for narrative writing. Our mentor text The Watertower by Gary Crew has been a real highlight within the Kookaburra Room with students carefully examining the illustrations and text trying to figure out the mysterious events at the conclusion of the book. 

Students have engaged in a number of Writing activities throughout the week including creating their own illustrations, writing alternative endings based on their understandings and writing diary entries through the lens of a chosen character from the book. Below are some amazing examples which the students have worked on.
