Raising Rarity Conservation Program

I’m a Raising Rarity Conservation Program member, focusing mainly on conserving threatened Victorian flora. Participating in the Raising Rarity Conservation Program was an incredibly enriching experience as it provided me with hands-on opportunities to protect and nurture rare and endangered plant species. We are grateful to be partnered with this wonderful program by the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria. As a part of the group, we were given an opportunity to plant and look after a critically endangered species of flora called Xerochysum Palustre and, in simpler terms, Swamp Everlasting in our school garden. This experience deepened my love for nature and strengthened my commitment to protecting the environment.
