From the Principal
As we close out the year, we are thrilled to share this final newsletter, packed with highlights from recent events and achievements. A big thank you goes to the students and staff who contributed their stories, reflections, and successes throughout the year.
As the year winds down, staff have been finalising assessments and writing reports to be shared with families. Our students have begun engaging in their end-of-year activities and I am glad to see the number of students that are keen to be involved. The VCE Orientation Program concluded last week, and I hope our Year 10 and 11 students return in 2025 refreshed and ready for the challenges of their Senior classes.
Anticipation is also building for our 2025 Year 7 students, who attended their Orientation Day yesterday with the support of our Year 9 Peer Support Leaders. A big thank you to our Middle School for mentoring these leaders as they helped welcome our newest cohort to the school community. The atmosphere at the farewell assembly made it clear students had a great day of building connections and learning about their new school.
Earlier this term, we shared images of the Opening of our new Library and STEM building. With some areas of the upstairs spaces needing some finishing touches before we open them to the students and the community, we can assure you that they will be ready to welcome students when they return in 2025.
The Art and Design Shows showcased incredible talent from our students. The effort and creativity on display were exceptional, and the live music added a vibrant touch to the event. A big thank you to the Art and Design teams for their hard work in organising such a memorable evening.
Our Year 12 results will be shared tomorrow morning. We wish our students the best of luck and look forward to celebrating with them.
Our Ripples Magazine has been sent off to the printers and we will distribute them as soon as possible. This year’s edition is amazing! Even if you have not purchased a copy, please ensure that download the electronic pdf version from Compass. A Compass link will be shared with all families via a Newsfeed.
To help support students and families with the transition back next year, there will be a special 'Return to School' edition of the newsletter published before students return. Staff will be in Professional Learning on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th January before all students return on Thursday 30th January.
I wish everyone in our school community a restful, safe, and joyful holiday season. May the break bring renewed energy for another successful year in 2025!
Warm regards,
Chris Jones
