Year 3 Shape Shifters!
Our Year 3 mathematicians have been busy exploring the wonderful world of shapes!
We've dusted off our knowledge of 2D shapes like circles, squares, and triangles, and dived headfirst into the exciting realm of 3D objects. We've learned about prisms and pyramids, discovering their similarities and differences.
To really bring these shapes to life, we've been busy builders! Using toothpicks and playdough, we've constructed various 3D objects, from simple cubes to complex pyramids. We've even put our creations to the test, stacking books on top to see which shapes could withstand the most weight. It was a fun and engaging way to learn about the strength and stability of different shapes and designs.
Year 5 - Dudette Perfect Project.
The Dudette Project was a homework assignment where we had to do 3 trick shots based at different levels: easy, medium and hard. They each had to be different and creative and there were no limits. This homework was based on the YouTubers Dude Perfect who master trick shots with ease. The aim of this project was to select a challenge. We needed to develop a plan, then execute and review the challenge.

Year 6 and the Season of Advent
This week, Year 6 students had a wonderful time learning about the meaning behind the Advent candles. Each candle represents an important theme: hope, peace, joy, and love. The girls explored the significance of each candle and when it is lit in the Catholic Church during Advent.
After discussing the traditions, the students used their creativity to craft their own Advent wreaths. Each of the students thoughtfully arranged the candles, reflecting the meaning behind each one. This hands-on activity helped deepen their understanding of the season while allowing them to express their artistic talents. May their Advent wreaths remind them of the hope, peace, joy, and love that this season brings.
