What a wonderful way to end the year! Our Foundation students brought joy, laughter, and their favourite furry friends to our annual Teddy Bear Picnic. It was heartwarming to see the children delight in sharing stories, songs, and delicious treats as they celebrated a year of learning, growth, and friendship.
A huge thank you to all the families who contributed to making this event so special by bringing food to share. Your generosity and thoughtfulness truly reflect the spirit of our school community, fostering a sense of togetherness and gratitude as we prepare to celebrate Christmas.
This week, the aroma of Christmas filled our spaces as the Grade 3/4 and Grade 5 students joined forces for a special Christmas baking and decorating session! The students worked together to create a variety of festive treats, bursting with holiday cheer.
This activity wasn’t just about baking—it was about building community, sharing joy, and living out our faith through acts of kindness and collaboration. The students demonstrated teamwork, creativity, and a sprinkle of holiday spirit as they measured, mixed, and decorated their delicious creations.
Their hard work paid off as the finished treats looked (and smelled) absolutely amazing! Some goodies were shared among classmates, while others were lovingly packed to gift to family and friends, spreading Christmas cheer far beyond our school gates.
Last week, our Year 5 students participated in a special Leadership Day, an event designed to nurture their potential as the student leaders of our school in 2025. The day was facilitated by Danae, who guided our students through a series of engaging activities to explore the skills, learning assets and dispositions that form the foundation of effective leadership.
Throughout the day, students reflected on what it means to lead with integrity, serve others, and contribute positively to their school and wider community. They participated in team-building exercises, explored decision-making processes, and discussed the importance of resilience, collaboration, communication, and vision in leadership.
As part of their development, students also had the opportunity to apply for their 2025 leadership roles. This process encouraged them to consider their unique strengths, articulate their aspirations, and demonstrate their commitment to upholding the values of our school community.
The Leadership Day was not only a chance for students to grow as individuals but also a reminder of the shared responsibility we all have in fostering a culture of care, service, and faith. We are proud of the dedication and enthusiasm our Year 5 students displayed and are confident that they will continue to shine as leaders in 2025 and beyond.
We also met our Prep buddies for next year! Exciting times ahead.
On Tuesday’s his term the Year 1/2 students have been learning about instruments found in the orchestra and the sounds they create. We have loved investigating the difference between brass, string, woodwind and percussion instruments . It was a treat to have Demi play her cello for us to finish this unit of work.
