God our Father,
Bless our Parish so that we may love you more. Encircle our families with your loving care. Help parents to be good examples to their children and our youth to grow in strength as good Christians. To the sick, grant health. To the aged, bring serenity and to those in sorrow, joy. May we grow stronger in faith and may our love for one another become deeper in our daily living.

Big news was announced ~ in regard to St Mel’s parish priest Fr Rene Ramirez. On appointment by Pope Francis, Fr Rene is to be ordained as one of four Auxiliary Bishops for the Melbourne Arch Diocese on 1 February 2025.

I have congratulated Fr Rene on behalf of our school community this morning and there will be a formal acknowledgement and farewell for Fr Rene in the future as he prepares to take on this special appointment.
Since his appointment as Parish Priest of St Mel's (around this time last year) Fr. Rene has had a positive impact on our parish and school. He will be sadly missed when he leaves, though we wish him well in this new posting.
An announcement of a new Parish Priest for our parish will follow in the near future.
