Maria Island Marine Biology Experience – applications close 24 February
The University of Tasmania runs a practical learning experience unit for students studying year 11 and 12. In 2025, this predominately field-based unit will run from 21 to 27 April with 5 days on picturesque Maria Island on the Tasmanian East Coast. The unit is open to 24 students and is designed to engage, challenge, excite and inspire you through a hands-on marine science program. It will encourage students to explore issues threatening biodiversity as well as the productivity of the marine system. Climate change, invasive species, pollution, debris and their associated social and economic impacts will be covered. Monash Information Evening at Caulfield campus – Tuesday 4 March at 6:30pm

UniSC Best Field Trip in the World 2025 – entries close 9 March
University of the Sunshine Coast's award-winning Best Field Trip competition is open to Year 11 and 12 students Australia wide. It is a four-day adventure taking place from 10 to 13 April, exploring world-heritage wonders and hanging out with UniSC staff and students as well as some sporting superstars. The prize includes:
- Return travel from your residing destination
- All transfers, accommodation and meals
- Tickets to an NRL game at Suncorp Stadium
- Kayaking tour and overnight at Noosa
- Sightseeing and overnight stay at K’gari
UniSC know the best memory is a shared memory, so each winner will be able to bring along a friend! Entrants to the competition must submit a 100-word entry which responds to the question: What do you think life after high school will be like? Yagilaith 2025 – applications close 17 April
Hosted by Murrup Barak, Yagilaith (meaning ‘learning’ in WoiWurrung) is an opportunity for Year 11 and Year 12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students on an ATAR pathway in any state/territory to experience what studying at the University of Melbourne is like and live at a residential college.
Yagilaith is run over 5 days during the Victorian July school holidays on Monday 7 July to Friday 11 July 2025. There is no cost to participate – all expenses are covered including accommodation, food and flights to Melbourne. Places are limited! Australian Defence Force (ADF) Careers
The ADF offers over 300 roles across 10 different categories. These consist of a wide range of specialist military positions, support roles, traditional and technical trades and professions that range from medicine to engineering. Many of these jobs will suit students from diverse backgrounds and those who are not thought of as likely candidates for the ADF. These jobs are focused on the future, aimed at those who are looking to make the most of their Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills.
