Meet our Staff

Ffion Bowles - Assistant Principal
Hello Nossalolians! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Ffion Bowles, and I am thrilled to joining the Nossal Community as Assistant Principal in 2025.
My teaching journey began when I graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Arts and Education, majoring in Theatre Studies with minors in Psychology and Literature. I was fortunate to secure a position at Dandenong High School, a community I served for 18 years before coming here. Whilst I began life predominantly teaching Psychology, English and Drama, I finished my time there teaching Engineering, Science, Digital Technologies, Design and all other things STEM.
This was due to my journey through school leadership, serving in several roles over the years, ending as the founder of the Design Engineering Academy and the leader of Arts, Design and Digital Technologies. After a stint as Assistant Principal at Dandenong High School, I realised that I needed to embrace the challenge provided by a new educational community to take the next step in my professional growth.
Over the years I have been fortunate to combine my passion of education with my passion for travel, developing and delivering teacher training in countries including Peru, Malaysia and Laos. I also love to travel for the sake of adventure and take any opportunity to grab my passport.
I have been so very impressed by what I have experienced so far at Nossal and would like to thank all staff and students for their warmth and support as I discover what it means to be Nossalolian.
Lori Benis - Daily Organiser
I joined Nossal in July last year, stepping into the role of Daily Organiser to cover Viv Horner’s long service leave and eventually take over after her retirement at the end of 2024.
My journey with the Education Department began in 2013 at a government school in Hallam, before moving to Berwick College as the Daily Org/Events. Before diving into the education sector, I was the assistant store manager at Anaconda retail store in Narre Warren and spent my evenings and weekends teaching and coaching swimming for the YMCA or managing the local BWS.
My career in education started at the front office of Hallam Senior College, where I quickly transitioned to the role of Student Engagement Officer for the Trades and Technologies sub-school—a position I absolutely loved. From there, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of EA/Daily Org, which, while challenging, was incredibly rewarding.
Outside of work, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends at our little beach oasis, visiting as often as possible. One of my greatest joys is coming home to my beautiful, adopted ex-racing greyhound named Bella, who makes every evening a delight.
Anusha Karunaratna - Laboratory Technician
I joined Nossal High School in May 2024 as a part-time Laboratory Technician, and I am excited to continue contributing to the school community. My base school is Carwatha College, Noble Park and my journey in education began at St. Margaret’s Grammar, where I worked across both the Berwick and Officer campuses.
My passion for the medical field has been a consistent driving force throughout my career. I began my journey in 2014 as a Specimen Receptionist at Dorevitch Pathology and later progressed to working as a Laboratory Technician in the Microbiology Department at Australian Clinical Labs, Clayton and Cabrini Hospital, Malvern.
In addition to my laboratory roles, I worked as a Service Supervisor at a local Woolworths. I enjoy listening to music, spending time outdoors, and going for walks. My family, consisting of my three beautiful kids and my husband, is the most important part of my life, and I cherish every moment I spend with them.
Kirsten Overton - Accounts Payable
I have just joined the Nossal team at the start of 2025, working in Accounts Payable. This is my first time working in a school environment, my previous jobs have all been in Customer Service. I recently left my Customer Service role at Loscam, where I worked for 18 years, to join Nossal.
I love spending time with family & friends, baking with my daughter, watching TV series and being greeted by our 3 dogs when we get home. Hopefully there’s some travel on the cards in my future now that I am able to enjoy the school holidays breaks.
