Year 7 Mathematics Incursion

On Friday, 29 November, Year 7 students took part in a Maths incursion organized by Sascha Hentz from World of Maths. The workshop featured over 17 engaging, hands-on activities designed to make learning interactive and enjoyable. By incorporating real-life scenarios, students enhanced their problem-solving skills while following instructions in a fun and practical way.

Students thoroughly enjoyed working on these activities, which provided a refreshing change from their regular classes during the two-lesson session. A special thank you to our dedicated staff for their support and supervision throughout the event.

These hands-on experiences offered a range of benefits, from reinforcing key mathematical concepts to encouraging active participation, building confidence, and a desire for learning. With tasks tailored for all ability levels, the activities fostered positive thinking and celebrated effort, ensuring every student felt a sense of achievement.

The incursion also emphasized the importance of collaboration, as students worked together, shared strategies, and strengthened their problem-solving abilities, leaving them more confident in their mathematical skills.
