Last Week of Term
As I stated in my Principal’s address at our final assembly yesterday, the students at Plenty Parklands have had a massive final week of the school year. Fun Day Monday was a great success with all seven excursions providing fun activities for our students. On Wednesday night we farewelled our Year 6 students with a very successful Year 6 Presentation in our gymnasium. Congratulations to the staff involved and our graduating students on the way they carried themselves throughout the evening. The week culminated in our final whole school assembly of the year, which included a highlight of 50 of our students receiving Specialist of the Term Awards.
PPPS Developments Over Summer
Over the coming holiday break, we will continue to make improvements to our school. In early January we plan to recarpet the four Year 5 rooms in Block A and undertake a painting project in the Prep building in Block D. We have also planned to service our gymnasium floor and scheduled maintenance of our artificial grass on the sportsground. Mr. Surkitt will be in during the break to continue to keep the gardens and grass areas looking good for our students returning in Term 1.
Important Notes Regarding the Start of the School Year in 2025
The leadership team and I will return to work in the week of the 21st of January as we prepare for 2025. The first official day back for staff is Tuesday 28th January. The most important date for parents is Wednesday 29th January, which is our Introducing My Child Day. Please make sure you have made a booking for your child’s new teacher. Please also note that this is a student free day. Students from Year 1 to Year 6 will return to normal classes on Thursday 30th January, whilst our Preps’ first day is Monday 3rd February.
Happy Holidays
As we come to a close on the 2024 school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a well earnt holiday break. I hope you take this opportunity to come together as a family and spend quality time together. My family will be busy as we move into our new home and then plan to head down to the beach for a while. The challenge for me will be getting our two older children (19 and 17) to come along and do the family thing! Have a safe break everyone.
