Britton Shield Football
Clayfield College fielded five teams in this year’s Britton Shield football competition a notable increase from three in 2024. Representing the College were two U12 teams, two U10 teams, and one U8 team, reflecting strong interest and growth in the program.
Across Term 2, the boys committed to regular training sessions, working to sharpen their skills, improve team structures, and better understand their roles on the field. Their preparation was evident on game day, which was marked by high energy, teamwork, and focused effort.
A standout moment came from our U8 team, with several students experiencing their first Britton Shield. After strong performances in the round games, the team finished equal on points with IJGS and BBC. Unfortunately, goal difference became the deciding factor, narrowly denying them a place in the finals.
All teams demonstrated growth and determination, and the College is proud of every player’s effort throughout the season. Congratulations to all involved on a positive and rewarding Britton Shield campaign.
