The Arts Bulletin

Arts Day

Arts Day was a vibrant celebration of creativity and connection, centred on the theme Be Fearless – Unleash Your Emotions. Students began with House choir rehearsals and delivered passionate performances in the House Choral Competition, judged by guest performer Natasha Vesenlinovic. Engaging workshops followed, allowing students to explore different art forms in a collaborative and energetic environment.

After a House picnic lunch and final rehearsals, the day concluded with the dynamic House Dance Competition and a lively staff performance, with professional dancer Ella Giammichele joining us as guest judge and performer. The day truly embodied the courage, expression, and spirit of the Arts at Clayfield College.

'Chinese Bridge' Chinese Language Competition

On 14 June, for the first time, three of our Primary students, Henry Both (Year 4), and Lia Lee and Michaela Prasad (Year 6), proudly represented our College at the 'Chinese Bridge' Chinese Language Competition for Primary School Students in the Queensland Division.

We are delighted to share the outstanding results of their performances:

  • Lia Lee was awarded 1st place in Queensland and will go on to represent Australia in the World Primary Chinese Language Competition in October
  • Henry Both achieved 2nd place
  • Michaela Prasad received 3rd place.

Our College is home to many talented and dedicated students. We are incredibly proud of Lia, Henry, and Michaela for their exceptional achievements. Lia’s upcoming representation of Australia on the world stage is a remarkable milestone.

Please join us in congratulating these students on their success, they are shining examples of Clayfield’s global spirit.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to Ms Ruby Chen and Ms Cassie Li, our Chinese teachers, for their unwavering support and dedication in preparing our students for this prestigious event.

Choral Workshop and Performance with Brisbane Boys’ College

Congratulations to our vocalists on a wonderful, combined concert with Brisbane Boys’ College last night. Audiences enjoyed performances by Clayfield College’s Canzona and Ciao Bella Choirs, the Ragazzi boys choir, and BBC’s Colleagians and Camerata ensembles. A standout moment was the moving rendition of two beautiful movements from Fauré’s Requiem.
