Fitness for Life

Purpose

Year 10 'Fitness for Life' is for every student who is interested in fitness, health, sport and athletic performance. This subject is designed for every individual; from elite athletes wanting to gain the extra edge to those interested in health and fitness but not sure exactly where to start when wanting to improve personal fitness. This subject aims to provide students with an opportunity to innovate their own training program to improve and refine their health and fitness.

Structure and Content

This subject is highly practical in nature and will consist of a combination of practical and theory classes with the opportunity for students to utilise the school gym and sporting facilities on campus. Students will have opportunities to learn through movement and apply the theory to practical experiences. Students will refine and consolidate a range of kingdom and social skills, such as leadership, teamwork, collaboration, humility and integrity through practical activities and workshops. Students will have the opportunity to design, implement and reflect on a personally developed training program aimed at improving personal fitness, athletic goals and honouring the bodies God has given us.
