Monday was the second to last Spanish Club for the term.
During our session, Veni led a fun demonstration to help kids understand the concepts of the equinox (equinoccio), solstices (solsticios), and seasonal changes (cambios de estación).
With the help of a headlamp and some very enthusiastic (or at least mildly cooperative) student volunteers, we turned science into theatre! The kids became the Earth (la Tierra) and the Sun (el Sol), showing how our planet's tilt and orbit affect the seasons.
After our stellar performance, we relaxed with some games and merienda.
Thank you, equipo, for another fun-packed afternoon!
Coming up next Monday
We're diving into summer solstice celebrations in Catalonia, Spain. We'll explore their lively traditions and even bake cocas de Sant Joan a delicious sweet bread that says, “¡Hola verano!” (And also, “¡Adiós dieta!”). But that’s all we’ll reveal for now…Ven a descubrirlo!
Nos vemos el lunes!!!
