Grade 2 News

Our students have been working hard during our current unit on Narratives.
We’ve been exploring the Dreamtime story How the Birds Got Their Colours, learning about story structure, character development, descriptive language and punctation. Inspired by this traditional tale, students are now planning and writing their own narratives, applying the skills they’ve learned.
In Mathematics, our focus has shifted to Data. Students have been learning how to collect, organise, and interpret data in meaningful ways. It’s been exciting to see them asking questions, conducting surveys, and representing their findings through different table styles.
In Religion, we have just begun a new unit on Baptism. Students are exploring the symbols and significance of this important sacrament and how it connects us to our faith community.
Meanwhile, our Geography inquiry is coming to a close, and students are putting their knowledge into action with a creative project—designing their own town!
This exciting task brings together everything they’ve learned about places, people, and the spaces around them.
It’s been a busy and productive few weeks, and we’re so proud of the learning and creativity happening in our classroom!
