Foundation News

The Foundation students have been so determined in their learning this term.

Their hard work is paying off and we are seeing lots of students proud of their learning achievements every day!

In Literacy, students have been excited to meet new sounds and more tricky words.

We call these words, such as one, the, were and look, ‘tricky’ as if students were to sound them out, they would sound very different!

Each week we learn more tricky words and your student’s teacher will make this known through your child’s reader journal.

Please practice these as much as possible if you have time as we are learning more and more every week.

In Maths, we’ve been working with directional words such as left, right, under, behind, next to and over.

Students were excited to create their own obstacle courses and then lead their partner through these using directional words.

We have also been exploring teen (11-20) numbers and how these numbers look using different hands on materials.

In Religion we have been talking about who God is and how He makes his presence known to us through His love, creation, the Bible and the people surrounding us.

Students have been discussing what ‘generosity’ means and how they can try and show this trait more in their own lives.
