Grade 6 students have been working on newspaper puppies inspired by artist Sally Watts for several weeks now. Sally creates her puppies from recycled newspapers and junk mail. Starting with nothing more than scrunched up newspaper and masking tape, construction up until now has been a noisy and messy process! Grade 2 students put the finishing touches on their Vincent Van Gogh inspired sunflowers last week. This project was a great process: colour mixing, stencilling, pattern work and construction.

Foundation students read the picture story book ‘Mopoke’ by Phillip Bunting a few weeks ago and followed a drawing sequence to draw their mopokes. Since then, I have inverted each drawing on the photocopier to become a ‘Midnight Mopoke’. Students were also provided with black and white wood grain and leaf photocopies along with some gold stars.
Love these!
