SAYEMBARA STATE-WIDE INDONESIAN SPEAKING COMPETITION  

 

In June, a number of students participated in the State Indonesian speaking competition. This is a very competitive and prestigious event sponsored by the Victorian Indonesian Language Teachers' Association and the University of Melbourne. Participants completed oral interviews with two examiners, speaking in Indonesian for the entire sessions. They answered a mixture of known and unknown questions and discussed topics they wrote themselves.  

 

We congratulate all participants for their impressive effort and performances in the competition and commend the following students for becoming state winners: 

 

Brandon Pearce  - 3rd place Year 7 Continuing category 

Zoe Perkins  - Highly Commended 4th place Year 7 Beginning category 

Shanelle Jong  - 2nd place Year 9 Continuing category 

Tahnee Miller - Highly Commended 4th place Year 9 Continuing category

EDUCATION PERFECT WORLD LANGUAGES CHAMPIONSHIP 

 

Recently, the year 7 and 8 students participated in the Education Perfect World Languages Championship that ran for a week. Students competed with students around the world answering listening, speaking, reading and writing questions online. 

 

Well done to all participants for their impressive effort and performances in the competition and congratulations to the following students for winning awards:
