Year 10 Business -

Market Day

Last week the Year 10s (and some Year 9s) put on their long-awaited Market Day. Students from myself and Mr Grant's Money, Markets and Capital class have been working this semester on creating a small business. The students had to create a business idea from scratch culminating in Market Day where they were in charge of their own market stall, selling their wares to make money for the Cancer Council.

The day itself was a great success and students did an outstanding job dealing with the huge amount of foot traffic! Pancakes, sausages in bread and ice-cream spiders were among some of the products available to a large and hungry crowd of students and teachers. Mr Grant and I were extremely proud of the students on the day and their ability to deal with the pressure of a busy service time. It was great to see students get a taste of creating something from the ground up and hopefully they all got some sense of what it takes to run a successful business.
