SRC Dress Up Day

Following the inspiring visit from Van and Lex at our recent Aussie of the Month assembly, we are excited to support Guide Dogs and the vital work they do. As part of this initiative, we have the incredible opportunity to name a puppy—provided we raise the most funds!

To contribute to this meaningful cause, we encourage everyone to participate by:

  • Dressing up as their favourite hobby on Tuesday, 17 June (e.g., basketball player, gymnast, dancer, etc.).
  • Making an online donation at: Guide Dogs Victoria Fundraiser.

Thank you for your generosity and support. Let's make a difference together—Go POPS!

Volunteer Speakers Needed for AOM Assemblies

We’re on the lookout for parent/carer volunteers who’d be happy to speak at one of our Aussie of the Month assemblies!

As the guest speaker, you will present the Aussie of the Month award and address the student body for approximately five minutes. This would be a valuable opportunity to share your experiences and insights, whether related to your profession, personal achievements, community involvement, charitable work, sporting pursuits, or travel.

We believe that hearing from members of our wider school community can be both inspiring and educational for our students, and we would greatly appreciate your involvement.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy being part of, we’d love to hear from you! Please email our Foundation teacher, Kerrie McRae, at kerrie-anne.mcrae@education.vic.gov.au

with your expression of interest and a brief outline of what you would like to speak about.

Thank you for your  support.

Volunteers Needed in the Chicken Coup!

We currently have 11 lively POPS hens in our chook house. If you would like to care for the POPS hens for a week or two, please add your name to the hen roster.  https://myschoolconnect.com.au/app/volunteer

See the POPS Chook Book (you will receive a copy when you collect the key from the Office) for details such as suitable foods to give the chooks but essentially please…

- organise to collect the keys from the school office on a Friday after school.

- Check there is enough food (pellets/mash) and water every 2 - 3 days or daily if you wish.

- If you run out of food there are new bags in the garden shed, your key will open this. There are some seeds the hens love in a container there too – only ½ cup every 2-3 days.

- there are also some egg cartons on top of the old fridge in there if you forget to bring one.

- Scoop out any mess from the laying boxes/hutch and put it in the bin just outside their hutch for composting. If you need more straw there is some in the shed too.

- Collect and enjoy the delicious eggs 😊

The hens love fresh scraps from your kitchen! The chook key opens the garden shed and the veggie garden – you are welcome to water, harvest or weed the garden too!!
