Year 1 and 2 Water Watchers on the Case!

Yarra Valley Water Watchers Incursion

On Wednesday 11th June, our Year 1 and 2 students took part in the Water Watchers incursion, run by Yarra Valley Water. With the help of four cheerful characters, Welly, Wade, Washy and Wavy, students completed four fun and informative challenges all about how we use and care for water.

Students learnt that the three main parts of the water cycle are evaporation, condensation and precipitation. They also discovered how water is collected in reservoirs, then cleaned and treated to make it safe to drink. An important tip they took away was to check the colour of their pee to make sure they’re drinking enough water! Students also learnt everyday ways we can all help save water, like taking 4-minute showers and turning the tap off while brushing our teeth.

Your child will be coming home ready to teach you all about what they learnt, and they’ll also have a special surprise to add to a tap in your home as a helpful reminder... because remember: the Water Watchers are watching!
