Oh What a Night!
The night on which we embarked on our Beaufort Secondary College Debutante adventure was absolutely magical. Strengthening our bonds with family and friends, we made everlasting memories, as we dressed up in our elegant gowns and danced the night away.
Travelling to the hall from the Football Club rooms, after having our photos taken, was nerve-wracking but also exciting and unforgettable. We all sang along to Taylor Swift, as the dream we had kick-started was soon to become a reality.
After arriving at the hall, the night started with our MC's, Mr Green and Miss Dridan, detailing our interests, before the Flower Girls, Page Boys and all eighteen couples were announced. School Captains, Bria Moodie and Jazz Tiley, then presented a short speech, after which we performed our four dances.
We started the first two dances to the upbeat tunes of the Cha Cha and Merengue. Warmed up and eager to continue, we moved onto the Progressive Jive and the Evening Three Step. Our performance on the night was a clear reflection of each couple's persistence and determination, showing their dedication to making the evening a success, especially with the phenomenal dance moves!
A big thank you to the volunteers who helped set up the decorations; they looked exceptional. Furthermore, thanks to our dance teacher Shelley Ross for teaching us the dances, Tanya Kehoe for her magnificent organisation and all the teachers who helped on the night. It was a fantastic turnout, with everyone in high spirits, ensuring all participants and their guests had an enjoyable, fun, and entertaining night.

The 2023 Debutante Ball exceeded all my expectations. The decorations were beautifully prepared, with every single detail taken into consideration.
We started the night feeling a little anxious, however that quickly turned to excitement as we got settled and our training started to kick in. Everyone was smiling and laughing and thoroughly enjoying themselves.
The level of commitment from everyone involved was amazing and made the evening so much more enjoyable. I would like to thank to our dance teacher, Shelly Ross, everyone involved in the organisation of the event and all the Debs who participated, as without the effort from this awesome group of people, this amazing night would never have happened.
