Swimming Program

We would like to thank everyone for making the first week of our swimming program so successful. To arrange an entire school swimming program requires lots of planning and communicating with many people. We know the children have been enjoying these lessons and most importantly they are learning how to be safe in and around water.

Congratulations to Tiffany Lan (5CB)

We would like to congratulate Tiffany Lan (5CB) who recently won the National

Championship in the ‘Free Hands Category’ at the recent National Gymnastics

Competition. This achievement is not easy for her, considering the rigorous training schedule she maintains. She dedicates 18 hours per week to rhythmic gymnastics and 3 hours to ballet.

Tiffany is now preparing for the upcoming Victorian Championships competition on October 21st. We wish Tiffany all the best.

Parent Opinion Survey Results

We would like to thank the parents that completed the annual Parent Opinion Survey. We recently received the results, and we are very happy with the feedback. Parent Contributions 2024

By the end of November, we will inform the school community of the Parent Payments for 2024. The Department of Education has asked schools to itemise the payments. The cost for Parent Payments is discussed and approved at our Finance and School Council meetings prior to being announced to the school community.

2024 Enrolments

The Education Department has developed a strict process for the timeline of Foundation enrolments for 2024 and beyond. The process is aligned to the Year 6-7 process, ensuring more consistent and timely enrolment to primary school practices across the state. Over the last three years we have urged parents to have applications for enrolment provided by June in the year prior. It is important for us to be able to plan for the following year with clear information. One of the most important aspects of this is understanding how many siblings will be enrolling. If you have a younger child who will be school age come 2024, please consider assisting us by downloading an enrolment form from the CRPS website or by picking one up from the office and then completing it as soon as possible.

Parents can check if they are inside our school zone via this link: https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/

Are you leaving CRPS in2024?

We ask that you let us know if you are moving or have enrolled in another school in 2024. We require this information as soon as possible to establish grade structures for the start of the new school year. If your child is currently in Grades Foundation – 5, and will not be at Camelot Rise in 2024, please notify the school office in writing as soon as possible.

Parent requests for 2024

We are currently planning for 2024 and as part of this process we are determining our class structure and staffing profile to best meet the needs of all students. A great deal of thought, planning and time goes into placing children into classes each year. Every effort is made to place each child in a learning environment that is happy, productive and successful. Class placement is a complex process involving a range of factors and allocations will not be finalised until later in the school year.

We anticipate that we will have seventeen classes again in 2024. We continue to increase our student numbers throughout the school. This is testament to the quality of education we provide at Camelot Rise Primary School. This is a combination of the outstanding classroom teaching practices, excellent academic results of our students, the students’ sense of connectedness to the school and their peers, the support of our families and the wonderful reputation we have in the community.

We do not accept requests for placement with individual teachers, however, we do take into consideration relevant information, based on educational needs, which can help us with the placement process, and we try to place students with at least one known friend, if possible.

If parents have any request for their child / children for 2024 we need this to be put in writing or via email, to Matthew Coney, Principal, by 4 pm on Friday, 27th October.

My email address is matthew.coney@education.vic.gov.au

PUPIL FREE DAYS THIS TERM

Just a reminder of the dates for our remaining Pupil Free Days

  • Curriculum Day on Monday November 6, 2023. This day will be used for report writing purposes.
  • Teacher Professional Practice Day on Thursday 30th, November. This day will be used by teachers to plan for 2024.

This concludes all pupil free days in 2023.

Final Assembly for the year

One date that our community look forward to is the final assembly of the year because we farewell our grade six children for their final day of primary school after a 7-year journey.

The date and time for this is Tuesday 19th, December commencing at 9.15am.

At the assembly we will listen to the Year 6 graduates sing their farewell song, watch the Year 6 PowerPoint and celebrate the year we have had.

Please put all this in your calendar.
