Principal's Address

Year 12 Graduation assembly

I had the privilege of speaking at the Year 12 graduation on Tuesday afternoon. This opportunity is one that I thoroughly enjoy as principal as it gives me the chance to speak about the journey each of our graduates has been on throughout their 13 years of schooling and to reflect on their fondest memories. Thank you to our parents and special family members for joining us. On a side note, I can’t say I was too disappointed to miss most of the muck-up assembly. It often takes a few days to get all of the cream out of my ears!

I would like to wish Amanda, Dijana, Imogen, Joe, Josh, Katlyn, Lily, Logan, Shakaya and Steph good luck for the upcoming HSC examinations and for life after school. It has been a pleasure being your principal and teacher. And because I wished you good luck, please don’t muck up my office too much tonight…

Possum Magic

I am driving the new school bus to Canberra tomorrow to ensure that all infants students can go to Possum Magic at the Canberra theatre. With 57 students, there was simply not enough room on the hired coach!

I can’t wait to spend my day with many excited little people enjoying the bus trip, theatre visit and park play. I am sure that when they return, they will be very ready for a holiday!

Thank you to Mrs Brougham for organising the excursion.

Mobile phone and electronic device procedure

From day 1 of Term 4, student mobile phones at Boorowa Central School with be ‘off and away from gate to gate’. Students are aware of the procedures and have had the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. Information was also sent home to all families to ensure parents can support their children to make positive choices with their phones at school.

If a secondary student brings a phone to school, it must be switched off and placed in their bags prior to entering the school grounds. It must remain off and, in their bags, until they leave the school site at the end of the school day. Signs will be erected at all gated entry points to the school, plus select areas, to help reinforce this expectation. There will also be an increased presence of executive staff at the beginning of the term as a reminder to the students.

If a phone is visible and or being used, disciplinary action will be taken.

If you wish to discuss this mobile phone ban, please arrange an appointment by ringing the school on 6385 3009.
