What’s Happening in Careers?

Year 10

The Year 10 group are moving through the career exploration process. At this point, they have worked through self-assessment and so are moving into researching courses and options that might work for them. They have been researching courses at different institutions and considering apprenticeships. We will continue to work on pathways that will lead each student to success in their field. There are some great opportunities for this age group over the school holidays.

Year 12

It is hard to believe that this group are finishing up! We wish all of the boys who are heading into ATAR exams all the best. I have attached details of the revision courses run by ECU. These are free and you can access them online as well as in person.

Congratulations to those who have finished UniReady pathways, General courses and those who have accepted apprenticeships. There are lots of exciting things ahead for all of you! Remember, if you need help you can call us or drop in and see us.

We ended the term with a presentation from Year 13 students who are now at university, volunteering or working in apprenticeships. They were able to offer some great insights into what leaving Mazenod is like and how to navigate the transition. We always love hearing from our MOB and hope that our current Year 12’s return and share their wisdom in the future. Thanks so much to Darcy Appleby (Bachelor of Arts, Creative Writing), Thibaut Collard (Bachelor of Medicine, Radiological Science), Mark D’Silva (Volunteering with Youth Mission Australia in Sydney), Kade McKeown (Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship with Alcoa) and Jess Jenkins (Bachelor of Engineering). It was fabulous to see them all doing so well and enjoying their chosen pathway.
