School-Based Vaccinations for Year 7 and Year 10 Students

In Queensland, students in Year 7 and Year 10 are offered free vaccinations as part of the National Immunisation Program. Protecting young people from serious illnesses is a top priority, and school-based vaccination programs make it easy and convenient.

What’s Included?

  • Year 7: 21st April 2026
    • Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
    • Human Papillomavirus (HPV) – helps prevent cervical and other cancers
  • Year 10: 21st April & 21st July 2026
    • Meningococcal ACWY – protects against four strains of meningococcal disease
    • Meningococcal B vaccine (2 doses)

Consent Form

Your child will bring a consent form home from school, if they are eligible. Read the form, complete and return to school, even if you choose not to vaccinate at school.

Why Vaccinate?

Vaccines are one of the safest and most effective ways to protect against serious diseases. They not only protect your child but also help prevent outbreaks in the wider community.

Missed a Dose?

Students who miss their school vaccinations can catch up for free until they turn 20. After that, vaccines can still be accessed through your doctor with a private prescription.
