One of our core school values is respect. We encourage our students to show respect by valuing different ideas, opinions, and ways of thinking, using positive, considerate language and tone when interacting with others and showing active listening.
Respect extends to how we care for our environment, treat shared spaces responsibly, both within our school and in the wider community. It also includes respecting everyone’s right to learn by coming prepared, being ready to engage, and considering those around us.
Being an upstander, giving others space to contribute, and making thoughtful choices are everyday ways students can show genuine respect. At home, I encourage families to continue conversations about empathy, responsibility, and how our actions affect others. Together, we can continue to celebrate the respect our students show each day and support them as they grow into considerate, community-minded young people.
So far this year, our students have been acknowledged on Compass for positive contributions over 200 times, with more than 50 of these specifically for demonstrating respect. Students and families can view individual positive chronicles on Compass.
The Year 12 Class of 2026 has had a positive and busy start to the year. Our Year 12s have settled in and are showing commitment, maturity, and pride as they step into their final year. With the first SACs for Unit 3 occurring or approaching, they’re getting into good study routines and handling the lift in expectations well. They’re also beginning to think ahead through careers consultations and pathway planning, while building a great sense of community as they organise cohort dress-up themes and year-level traditions.
