Premier’s Reading Challenge 2026 –
Let’s Get Reading!
The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) is back for 2026 and we would love to see as many of our students take part as possible! This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Challenge, making it a very special year to celebrate reading.
The PRC aims to encourage students to develop a love of reading for pleasure while discovering new and exciting books. It is not a competition, but a personal challenge for each student to read, read more, and read more widely. The Challenge is open to all NSW students from Kindergarten to Year 10.
The PRC is now open online, with the rules and student reading logs available at the following website: NSW Premier's Reading Challenge 2026 : Home
Class teachers have the user names and password details, to log in to the PRC, for students K-6 to record the books they have read. It is the parent's and student's responsibility to complete this information online.
All students K-6 at St Margaret Mary’s have until Friday, 18th September to complete the Challenge individually online.
Students are able to borrow a large variety of PRC books from our school library. They can also access many PRC titles through our SORA eBook collection, which offers a wide variety of books to enjoy. To access SORA: https://soraapp.com/library/cenetau
- Log in using your Google login and password
- Click on the ACEN Collection
Enter our school name when prompted
Once students complete the PRC, they will receive a certificate at the end of the year with their name and school on it to celebrate their reading achievement.
If you have any queries or experience any problems, please do not hesitate to contact me in the library.
Finally, a reminder that if you would like to purchase something from the Scholastic Book Club catalogue Issue 2, it closes today, Thursday, 12th March, 2026. Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards
Mrs Michele Balogh-Caristo
