Year Four

This term, our Year Four students have been busy investigating the fascinating world of forces in Science. Throughout the unit, students explored the non-contact forces of electrostatic force, magnetism, and gravity.
One of the highlights was our “Dancing Ghosts” experiment, where students discovered how electrostatic force can cause materials to attract. Using balloons, tissue paper, and their hair, they observed static electricity in action, leading to many excited reactions and curious questions.
During our magnetism investigations, students explored floating magnets and observed the push and pull forces of attraction and repulsion. They enjoyed experimenting with different magnets, making predictions, and testing their ideas through hands-on learning experiences.
Throughout the unit, students continued to develop their scientific inquiry skills by making predictions, conducting experiments, recording observations, and reflecting on their findings. It has been wonderful to see their curiosity, teamwork, and enthusiasm for learning grow during our weekly Science lessons.
In the coming weeks, we look forward to exploring gravity in greater depth and using our scientific knowledge to design and conduct our own experiments!
