YEAR 11
Leading The Way

Head of Year 11
At the recent Year 11 Leadership Day, students were introduced to the concept of A Marathon in the Making as a way of understanding their senior journey. Year 11 was framed as the training phase for the “marathon” of Year 12, with a strong emphasis on building habits, consistency, and resilience over time. Students were reminded that, like any training journey, some days will feel successful and others may be more challenging. This message aligns closely with the Year 11 theme of Leading the Way, encouraging students to lead themselves through their choices, effort, and response to challenges. This is a key message I will continue to reinforce with the cohort throughout their senior journey.
During SEL in Week 4, Year 11 students will be setting up their QCAA Student Portal and Learning Account. This marks an important milestone in their senior schooling journey as students begin preparing for Year 12 and beyond. The portal enables students to access and monitor their QCE progress, view enrolment information, and become familiar with the systems that will support them throughout their senior years. We encourage students to take this process seriously to ensure they can confidently access and use their account moving forward.
Students were recently invited to register their interest in assisting as ushers for the upcoming College Open Evening in Week 5. This is a valuable opportunity for our Year 11 students to demonstrate leadership and continue “Leading the Way” by welcoming prospective families and showcasing our College community.
Student volunteers will assist in guiding families around the College and sharing their experiences of College life. We encourage interested students to complete the Google Form sent via email and attend one of the required training sessions. Participation will also contribute towards house points and provide valuable leadership experience.
