Religious Education Assembly

Holy Week and Good Shepherd Feast Day
On Monday morning, we did an assembly about the story of the Good Shepherd and Holy Week. Some students from all across the year levels read to the whole school about the Good Shepherd Feast Day and Holy Week. Some Preps,Year 1s and Year 3s, did an act on the Good Shepherd taking care of all his sheep and about how he cares for them. The sheep is like us and Jesus cares for every single one of us and makes us find our way back. We also sang The Lord is My Shepherd with the whole school. This event is important because the school is based on the Good Shepherd. Holy Week tells us the story about how Jesus sacrificed himself for us and then resurrected. It starts with Palm Sunday and that’s when he entered Jerusalem. On Easter Sunday, Jesus resurrected from the dead. Easter reminds us that hope is alive. We showed some photos from Stations of the Cross last term.
