Dear School Community,

Welcome Back to Term 2

As we begin Term 2, it has been wonderful to welcome familiar faces back across our school communities. We are delighted to welcome Cathy back to St Patrick’s and Sean back to Our Lady of La Vang. Their presence, leadership and deep connection to our students and families are greatly valued, and we are pleased to have them back with us as the term begins.

Last Wednesday, a representative group of parents and staff from Catholic Special School came together at Nation to begin an important and exciting journey: the development of a brand for our new, unified name of Catholic Special School. This collaborative session invited us to reflect deeply on who we are, how we do what we do, and most importantly, why we do what we do. The strength of staff and family voice was evident throughout the process. Supported by skilled strategic planners and an insightful copywriter, the group worked thoughtfully to capture the heart, purpose and identity of our school community.

This week, we also had the pleasure of welcoming Dr Neil McGoran, Executive Director of Catholic Education South Australia, along with John Neate, Chairperson of the South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS). Our visitors thoroughly enjoyed meeting our students and staff. They spent time in classrooms, engaged in conversations with staff, and experienced firsthand our school in action. Their genuine interest and appreciation for the work being done across our campuses was affirming for us all.

We look forward to a term filled with learning, connection and continued growth as we journey together.
