Leadership conference for all Charlton College school leaders 

GRIP Leadership is an independent organisation that exists to train and develop leaders with a special focus on school students and the educational sector. Charlton College School Leaders will attend the GRIP Leadership Conference in Melbourne, where they will come away with new skills, new perspectives, and new ideas for making a positive contribution as a leader. Students will be able to choose elective workshops on the day to tailor their experience to their own leadership role.

 

Key details for Students attending:

  • Students are required to bring their own packed morning tea, lunch, and a drink.
  • The bus will be leaving at 5:30am from the stadium carpark.
  • The conference is from 9am – 2:30pm
  • Students will have the opportunity to stop at Calder Park on the way home only.
  • Full school uniform is required.

Career Pathways Program

Sue Clay from the North Central LLEN is Charlton College’s Individual Career Pathways Coordinator. Sue is a qualified Career Development Practitioner who visits the College regularly each term for Career Development appointments with all Students in Years 9-12.

 

During these Career appointments Students discuss Subject selection, Personal Strengths, Abilities & Interests, Goal Setting, Career interests, Resumes, Work Experience opportunities, Post School study/work options etc. 

 

Each student has a Career Pathways Plan that is updated after each appointment, and these reports are available to the Students & their Parents/Guardians.

Are you in Year 10, 11 or 12? Then Explore Day is your chance to check out what life at Charles Sturt University is like. Keen to check out where you’ll be staying? Take a look at our accommodation and tour our campus, chat with students and get the lowdown from lecturers. There’s even a free lunch and a swag bag of goodies.

Victorian Careers & Employment Expo is open from March 14 to 16, 2024 at the Melbourne Showgrounds. The Expo will showcase over 130 organisations and employers with career opportunities for all ages. Visitor entry is free.

Marine Biology Experience

April 22nd to April 28th, 2024

A practical learning experience on Maria Island for year 11 and 12 students. This predominately field-based unit consists of 5 days on picturesque Maria Island on the Tasmanian East Coast. The unit is open to 24 students and is designed to engage, challenge, excite and inspire you through a hands-on marine science program. 

 

To help with the cost of getting to Tasmania, year 11 and 12 students currently living interstate will automatically go into the running to receive one of five fully funded packages.
