Student Wellbeing

Jess McGurk and Tasha Roberts

Welcome back!

Welcome back to our students & families. We look forward to working with you during the year. This year the Wellbeing Team is fortunate enough to have their very own space. This space will allow us to run lunchtime activities, work with students individually and in small groups and offer a calm space for students to visit when needed. The Wellbeing Hub is located in the old music rooms at the end of the corridor in the main building. The Wellbeing Team consists of Jess McGurk as the Coordinator, Tash Roberts (Wellbeing Support) and Tom Ayars (School Chaplain). Tash will be working full time. Tom’s work days are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Jess will be working on a Tuesday, every 2nd Wednesday (even weeks this term) and Friday’s. Be sure to have a look at the flyer at the back of the newsletter for some exciting lunchtime activities on offer.

School attendance

It is great to see students back at school- & that is exactly the way we want to keep it! Next week we will share some information around the importance of maintaining high levels of school attendance & the processes & supports available to ensure that attendance is maintained throughout the year.

Uniform

There are numerous mentions of uniform in this issue of the Parent’s Bulletin. If you are finding it difficult to fund the purchase of school uniform, please do not hesitate to make contact with Jess McGurk or Heidi Gibbeson at the College. Having the correct uniform enables full engagement with the learning program & supports students in feeling part of the College so providing assistance when required is a priority for us.

Catholic Care Victoria (CCV)- Parent programs & workshops

Over the year, CCV run a wide-range of one-off parent programs, as well as lengthier workshops. The delivery is both online & face-to-face & addresses a range of range of useful topics. Some programs are free, however some attract a cost.

Each term they publish a calendar which will feature on the Parent’s Bulletin & we will also send it out via Compass. In the past, a number of staff & families have participated in CCV programs & have spoken very highly of them.
