Wellbeing/Inclusion

Respectful, Responsible and Exceptional

Wow, what an excellent start to 2024 it has been for our students, staff and the Moriac Primary School community. With a big focus on ensuring our young people feel connected and valued and Moriac Primary School, there has been a lot of happy, smiling faces.

Berry Street

Last week, our staff engaged in the initial day of Berry Street training, centering on aspects such as relationships, character, engagement, body, and stamina.

The implementation of Morning Circles, along with increased involvement in Brain/Movement Breaks, has shown a positive influence within our classrooms.

Wellbeing Hub

The Wellbeing Hub, has been a highlight for the students in 2024. The Hub provides opportunities for students to engage in activities with students from other year levels.

Engaged Play

Engaging in supported-focused play activities can significantly contribute to children's overall development. Through these sessions, specific children will have the chance to learn and practise essential social skills in a fun and supportive environment. Our staff are dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive space where children can thrive and build meaningful connections with their peers. It's worth noting that engaged play closely aligns with the social and emotional curriculum being taught in class, ensuring a comprehensive approach to your child's development.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club is a free grab and go breakfast program which is organised by our grade 5/6 students, Wednesday and Friday mornings. We are lucky to be supported with this initiative via the Food Bank, Breakfast Club Program.

We also have Home Packs available for families who may be requiring support. Please reach out to the office.

Pulse Wellbeing Check-In (3-6 students)

We are excited to start our PULSE wellbeing check in program for our 3-6 student community next week.

Please see the link below to view a short video explaining this program further.

Application download

Pulse works best with the app, which is downloadable for free from the App Store. It would be great if all students could have this on their devise prior to next Monday.

Individual Education plans

Teachers are currently developing students Individual Education plans, if required. These plans will be released on compass by Friday week 4.

If you have any questions about your child's goals, please reach out to their teacher for clarification. Goals within this plan will be reviewed within Student Support Group meetings each term.

Please keep and eye out on compass for both IEP's and SSG bookings. Further details to come about SSG bookings.
