Performing Arts

What a fantastic start to the year we have had! This Semester we are focusing on Drama which aims to engage, inspire and enrich all students to reach their creative and expressive potential.

In Drama students are immersed in the world of performing and acting and are introduced to the purpose of performing - to entertain, to persuade or to tell a message or a story. At Moriac Primary School, we are lucky to have a dedicated Multipurpose Room in which we have the space to move freely.

We focus on skills such as facial expression, body language, movement, emotions/feelings, voice variation, interaction with others, roles and characters. Students have been introduced to a variety of games, music and songs.

Our grade 5s and 6s have started working on our 5/6 Production which will be performed at the end of term two (date to still be confirmed). Auditions have taken place for the last two sessions for the speaking roles. Throughout the semester we will be providing many ways for students to be involved in our production, including: acting roles, backstage crew, prop building and every 5/6 class will also be rehearsing two dance routines.
