PE

Dear parents and caregivers,

My name is Jade, and I have the privilege of teaching PE in 2024. This is my third-year teaching at HVS, and I am thoroughly enjoying getting to spend time with all students during PE classes. For those that know me, hello, and for those new to the school, welcome. I look forward to meeting you all very soon and engaging students in a fun filled year of PE.

The last few weeks students have been working on their gross motor and perceptual motor skills, whilst engaging in activities that are of interest to them. It has been wonderful to see all the students getting involved and having a go, a wonderful way to start the school year.

Little Angler Kits

The Victorian Government is investing $1.5 million from the Recreational Fishing Licence Trust Fund to provide up to 95,000 Little Angler Kits to primary school aged children in Victoria.

Grade 5 students at all Victorian schools, including ours (middle and senior years classes), will be offered the opportunity to receive a FREE Little Angler Kit. Grade 5 students have been selected based on the Victorian Curriculum focus, movement and motor development, and safety considerations.

The program is entirely voluntary. Schools were provided with the option to opt out of the program. Our school has opted to stay in the program so that parents can decide whether they want their child(ren) to receive a free fishing kit. Parents/carers can advise the school if they do not wish their child(ren) to participate for any reason whatsoever. We support parents in making decisions that align with their family values and beliefs. Fishing rods will be sent home with students between the 21st and 23rd of February. If you would like to opt out or arrange to pick the fishing kit up from school, please advise the office before these dates. More information regarding Little Angler Kits will be accessible via Seesaw.
