Middle Years
What a wonderful start to 2024 with 5 Middle Years classes this year including 2 new and 4 familiar teachers as well as all of our wonderful Educational Support Staff who have been working together to set your child's classroom up for a successful year ahead.
We have been taking our time to get to know our students, developing a connection, making them feel 'safe', 'regulated' and 'ready to learn'.
Students are learning to become familiar with the new routines of the classroom, where we sit, what type of chair we use, what regulation tools are available for us, have access to be able to communicate what we like/don't like, need and feel, follow a new schedule, share during our daily 'yarning circle time' and have fun with our friends in our 2024 class!
Swimming has started and it has been a huge success for those who have been fortunate to have the first block of going to the pool once a week. Mary, our fabulous swimming teacher has developed this year a sound track for each class, with some of the students favourite songs playing through the speaker while the students are in the pool. A wonderful extension of giving the students joy in the pool while listening to music.
Tuesday the 13th of February. Pancake Tuesday: All Middle Years classes enjoyed following a recipe, making, smelling, spreading
toppings and eating Pancakes. Yum!
