Opening Mass at Good Counsel College Innisfail

By Jack Brunetto and Finnian Dryden

We attended the Opening Mass of Good Counsel College Innisfail last Wednesday, 31 January. It felt good to be able to support a fellow Marist school in our region, for the induction of their new student leaders for 2024. Many of their practices and much of their culture are very familiar to our own traditions, including the singing of the Sub Tuum near the end of Mass. It was additionally affirming to see the Marist heart as a central focus during the Mass. It was particularly poignant that we represented St Augustine's, as this was a school we had grown up in. We look forward to continuing our ties with Good Counsel and wish their leaders every success this year.
