Student Leadership Update

Welcome to our 1st 2024 School Captain's Report! 

Hello everyone, we are the four school captains for 2024, Lily, Aya, Damian and Hamish. 

Hi, my name is Lily and I have been here for two years and I have been allowed to represent the school as a school captain. I’m looking forward to our next meeting next week. I’m also looking forward to selling icy poles every Friday. Some things I enjoy are acting and dancing. Last week we had the opportunity to have a meeting to discuss the year ahead, we also had some pizza during that meeting.

Hi, my name is Aya,  I am one of the four school captains and I have been at Newtown Primary School for 3 years. I enjoy helping students with work, playing and learning. Other things I enjoy are playing Volleyball and spending time with friends. This week we are having House Hour! Shannon Sharks, George Dragons, Aberdeen Aviators and Skene Snakes house students gather together to do activities. Speaking of house colours, I'm in Shannon house! I’m so excited to see our new preps in their house colours! That is all from me, see you next week! 

Hi, my name is Damian and I’m 11 years old. I too am one of the four school captains at Newtown Primary School. I'm ready for every challenge! I’ve been at the school since prep and I’m excited for this opportunity! My hobbies are soccer and basketball. My favourite subjects are math, art and sport. My house is George Dragons. I'm happy to do the role of handing out zooper doopers and making sure everyone’s happy.

My name is Hamish and I am 11. I've been at Newtown Primary School for a long time and am in my seventh year! I’ve enjoyed all of it. I enjoy basketball, sports and math. Outside of school, I love to bike ride, sail and game. Hosting assembly is one of the best things about being school captain along with meetings, selling zooper doopers and leadership opportunities.
