Year 1

Nikki Lewis (Team Leader), Maddi Fletcher, Nerida Forster & Chantelle Quinn

We’re already halfway through Term 2, and what a busy few weeks it’s been! After a big week of swimming, we’ve now returned to our regular timetable, and the Grade 1 students have settled back into their routines beautifully. They’ve been working hard in the classroom and showing great focus and effort.

Earlier this week, the students enjoyed a special session with their Grade 5 buddies, taking part in a Reconciliation Week activity. It was a lovely opportunity for connection, reflection, and learning together.

Swimming success!

A big thank you to our wonderful parent helpers who supported the Grade 1 swimming program—we couldn’t have done it without you! We are so proud of all our Grade 1 students for showing excellent manners to the swimming teachers and bus drivers throughout the program. Well done to everyone for giving new things a go in the pool and for showing such perseverance. A special congratulations to those who learned to take responsibility for their own belongings—what a fantastic effort!

We kindly ask families to check at home, as a few items may have accidentally gone home with the wrong person. If you happen to find something that’s not yours, please return it to school so we can reunite it with its owner.

Celebrations display wall

In the North Building corridor we are creating a Celebrations display wall. If you have a photo you would like us to put on the display of your child in cultural dress/clothing or taking part in an exciting celebration/tradition, please send it to your child's teacher.

Keeping our school healthy

As the weather gets colder, we know that colds, flus, and other viruses tend to spread more easily. To help keep our classroom and school community healthy, we kindly ask that if your child is feeling unwell, please keep them at home to rest and recover. This helps prevent the spread of illness and keeps everyone safe and well. Thank you for your support and care in keeping our school a healthy place for learning.

No nuts please!

To help keep all students safe, please do not pack any nuts or nut-based products in school lunches. There are several children in Grade 1 who have severe nut allergies, and even small traces can cause serious reactions. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.
