Attendance

Attendance

Thank you to all families for your continued efforts to support regular school attendance. Over the first four weeks of Term 2, we’ve seen a gradual decline in our whole school attendance:

  • Week 1: 95.67%
  • Week 2: 91.46%
  • Week 3: 91.39%
  • Week 4: 90.97%

While this trend is something we’re monitoring closely, we also want to celebrate some very positive signs. More students are now sitting in the 90–98% attendance range, growing from 50 students in Week 1 to 72 students in Week 4. This suggests that even though perfect attendance may not always be possible, many children are coming to school consistently, which sets them up well for learning and connection.

Several classes made notable improvements in Week 4:

  • Prep AC bounced back strongly from 89.52% to 98.57%
  • 1JW improved to 90.40%
  • 2AP rose to 90.00%
  • 2LP increased to 90.50%
  • 3JW lifted to 92.63%
  • 5EM remained steady at a high 97.37%

These results show us that positive routines at home, a strong sense of belonging, and teacher-student relationships all play a big part in helping students show up ready to learn. We appreciate your support in building these foundations with us.

Keeping Sick Students Home

A reminder to all families: if your child is unwell, please keep them at home to rest and recover fully before returning to school. This helps keep our school community healthy and ensures students can engage positively when they are here.

If your child is absent, please make sure to notify the school via our usual communication channels.

Thank you for your continued support in building strong, healthy routines for all our students.

 PBIS

Focus This Week: How We Treat Each Other

This week, our Positive Behaviour Blitz at school is all about “How We Treat Each Others.” Students are learning the importance of being respectful, responsible, and safe in how they speak, act, and relate to those around them.

We’re reminding students that kindness, fairness, and honesty help create a school where everyone feels safe and valued.

How Families Can Support at Home

You can help reinforce these important messages at home by:

  • Encouraging kind and polite language (e.g., “please,” “thank you,” “sorry”)
  • Talking about how we can listen to others with our whole body
  • Discussing how to be honest and take responsibility for actions
  • Praising respectful and safe behaviour in the home and community

When families and schools work together, we build consistent habits that help children thrive socially and emotionally.

As part of our school-wide PBIS (Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports) focus, we’re helping students learn and practise what it means to be respectful, responsible, and safe in all areas of their lives—not just at school, but also at home and in the community. To support this, we’ve created a simple matrix that families can use to talk about and encourage these behaviours in everyday life. Working together, we can help children build strong, positive habits that last a lifetime.
